Grimley Reviews

THE GRIMLEYS @ THE DIAMOND, SUTTON IN ASHFIELD

This article was published in the October edition of "It's Only Rock and Roll magazine" for the Derby and Nottingham areas

Over to one of our favourite venues the Diamond in Sutton in Ashfield it's The Grimleys (The very best in Glam Rock).  Looking over at the stage and all the mic stands are wrapped in feather boa's and the band came on dressed up like Christmas trees, glam to say the least.  Straight away we noticed one mic stand too many and after two numbers we were introduced to Mick Jagger.  Two songs and he's off, this set the scene for the night, two songs from the band and out comes David Bowie, Christ he's a dead ringer for Bowie.

Throughout the night we were treated to appearances from Donny Osmond (immaculate white suit) Bay City Rollers, Bryan Ferry, Ozzy, Roy Wood and lots more.  The night ended up being one of the most entertaining nights I've had in ages.

Hi Eddy

I would like to  thank you and the other members of your musical combo in helping me celebrate my 50th birthday in  such a fun , enjoyable and fantastic way. It really was everything I had planned for and everyone has commented on what a great band you lot are.
Can you thank Mott,Marc and Mick, Donny,David and Les. Ozzy, Gary and Showadywady on my behalf and all the other guys ,including the DJ.

Thanks once again.

David

These guys do a lot of corporate gigs and are equally at home doing rock parties and rally's.  If I was booking a rock party band then I'd definitely track these guys down.

A great night of entertainment, they all give you 100% and more. As for the Diamond it's a real friendly place and one of the top tribute venues in the Midlands.
